SUMMER SCHOOL 2026
MK Dance Theatre’s Summer School 2026 is designed to inspire a love for dance, creativity, and performance in young people through an exciting and supportive training environment. With a Junior Programme for ages 8–11 and a Senior Programme for ages 12–18, students will have the opportunity to explore movement, build confidence, develop new skills, and express themselves artistically alongside like-minded young performers.
While participants are advised to have some basic dance training, extensive experience in contemporary dance is not required, as the course is centred around exploration, creativity, and discovering the foundations of contemporary movement through engaging workshops and creative activities led by passionate industry professionals.
Taking place from 22nd – 25th July 2026 at New Bradwell School in Milton Keynes, MK Dance Theatre’s Summer School offers young dancers the opportunity to immerse themselves in an exciting week of contemporary dance training, creativity, and performance. While the programme is rooted in contemporary dance, students will also explore a variety of styles and influences connected to contemporary movement and performance practice. Guest teachers and workshop leaders will be announced shortly.
The Junior Programme (ages 8–11) will run daily from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, with participants taking part in a different workshop led by an industry professional each day.
The Senior Programme (ages 12–18) will run from 12:30 pm – 6:00 pm each day, beginning with a guest-led workshop from 12:30 pm – 3:00 pm, followed by a creative rehearsal session led by the MK Dance Theatre team. Across the week, senior dancers will work collaboratively to create an original performance piece that will be showcased in our Gala Performance on 26th July 2026 at The Venue.
The Senior Full Course includes participation in the gala performance, while the Junior Course includes one adult and one child ticket to attend the showcase.
